Have you wondered how you can see the file path of files you search for in Spotlight? Luckily it’s very easy to do in OS X.

How to use Spotlight:
To open Spotlight use Cmd+Spacebar and type your file search term.
Highlighting the file will bring up a quick preview window, left of the search.
To show file path:
Hold cmd+option(alt) key after choosing the file and file path will appear at the bottom of the preview.
So just to clarify – press the option/alt key together with the CMD key to see the location and path of the file, song, document, e-mail message, pdf, etc…
